REFLECTION

Observation
Throughout the semester in the Video and Sound Production module, I observed how critical both technical and creative elements are in the production process. From pre-production planning to post-production editing, every phase required attention to detail and strong collaboration. I noticed how different roles such as director, sound designer, and editor must coordinate effectively for a project to come together. The practical sessions, especially during filming and recording, highlighted the importance of timing, lighting, ambient noise control, and teamwork. I also saw that even minor mistakes in sound quality or camera angles could significantly affect the final output.

Findings
One of the most important things I discovered is how sound plays an equally vital, if not greater, role than visuals in creating atmosphere and emotion. Good sound design can elevate a mediocre video, while poor audio can ruin a well-shot scene. I also learned how post-production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition are powerful in shaping both the narrative and technical quality of a piece. Another finding was the value of planning storyboarding, scripting, and shot lists helped keep our work focused and organized. Lastly, I realized how iterative the creative process is; feedback and multiple revisions were necessary parts of achieving a polished final product.

Experience
My experience in this module was both challenging and rewarding. At first, I struggled with the technical aspects, especially handling equipment and editing software. However, as the weeks progressed, I grew more confident and competent. I enjoyed working in a group, sharing creative ideas, and troubleshooting problems together. One of the highlights was completing our final project it was fulfilling to see how all the skills we had developed came together in a cohesive piece. The process taught me patience, adaptability, and how to communicate effectively under pressure. Overall, this module gave me a deeper appreciation for the craft of video and sound production, and I now feel more prepared to explore creative media further.
