Transitions showcased are such as moment to moment, action to action, subject to subject, scene to scene and finally aspect to aspect.

INSTRUCTIONS

PROCESS WORK

1. References /Research

Fig 3.1.1 Sandman reference

I've taken a keen interest in the Sandman's comic to be the main reference for my comic panel's artstyle.

Fig 3.1.2 Dave McKean reference

Meanwhile for the cover I took a more realistic approach whereas Mr. Hafiz recommends me Dave McKean's works as my reference

2. Sketches

Fig 3.2.1 Rough Sketch

Fig 3.2.2 Final Sketch

As my first step on the comic panel, I showed Mr. Hafiz my rough sketch to depict the transition and how's the illustration in general is going to look like. After that, I proceeded to continue to illustrate the sketch further.

Fig 3.2.3 Rough Sketch

Fig 3.2.3 Final Sketch

As my first step on the cover, I'd draw a rough sketch to have a simple depiction of my idea in which Mr. Hafiz approved and I'd proceed to illustrate the sketch.

3. Digitalization process:

Fig 3.3.1 Tracing process

Fig 3.3.2 Coloring process

Starting with the comic panel, I'd fully trace my sketches in Adobe Illustrator and do a simple coloring with the gradient feature.

Fig 3.3.3 Coloring & Rendering process

For the whole process of the cover, I'd mostly use airbrush technique (Brush + Blur effect) to render as my digitalization process.

REFLECTION

While spending my semester on this module, I do realize how Adobe Illustrator is an app for professional use. I was quite struggling to use Adobe Illustrator until the more assignments we get, the more improvements and lessons I can learn from it in which this module has specifically helped me in so many ways, such as the uses of pen tool, the uses of brushes , effects, filters, etc. Therefore, for this final assignment, I was quite confident I could finish it according to my imagination with the tools and tips I learned from Mr. Hafiz, it's been such a journey.
