INSTRUCTIONS
FLIP 01
Group Task (Types of Infographics)
In Week 1, we formed a group consisting of 7 members for our group assignments. Mr Martin gave us 20 minutes to conduct research and prepare a presentation on different types of infographics.

Individual Task
For the individual task, we were required to select a free online infographic tool and redesign a poorly designed infographic poster through our own experimentation.
While browsing online, I found an infographic poster about car insurance.
Fig. 1.2 Original Infographic Poster
In my opinion, the text layout in the original poster was difficult to read and understand. The information appeared cluttered, with text tightly packed together, resulting in poor visual hierarchy.
For this task, I chose IbispaintX as my design tool to recreate the infographic. In my redesign, I focused on simplifying the layout and improving readability. I also established a clearer visual flow to guide the viewer’s eye from top to bottom.
FLIP 02
Group Task (L.A.T.C.H)
In this session, we worked as a group to understand and present L.A.T.C.H principle, which is used to organize information effectively.
FLIP 03
Group Task (Miller’s Law – Chunking)
For this task, we explored Miller’s Law, which focuses on chunking information into smaller, manageable units to improve comprehension and memory.
FLIP 04
Group Task (Manuel Lima’s 9 Directives Manifesto)
In this activity, we researched and presented Manuel Lima’s 9 Directives Manifesto, which outlines principles for effective data visualization and design.
REFLECTION
I really enjoyed working on these exercises and practical sessions. Despite the number of tasks, I am glad I was able to complete all of them. Through Mr Martin’s lessons, I discovered useful techniques in After Effects,
Overall, these practical sessions increased my interest in both Illustrator and After Effects, and I found the learning experience both challenging and rewarding.
